EURUSD M5 Big Candle Usage To Suppress/Delayed Martingale Open

Hello, here is my variation of currently running set from john.ital

Difference:

This set is delimit martingale maximum trades but I suppress/delayed when the martingale would be open, so average price/TP would chase down running price but not too fast so we got enough retracement to closed in profit

Optimization:

I don't optimize, but I change value manually

Period of backtest:

1. 2018 - 2020

2. 2016 - 2020

Account to use for backtest:

1. FBS Standard Demo leverage 1:1.000

2. ICM from Andrey's account leverage 1:500

Lot Sizing:

1. For 2018 - 2020 I use 0.01 for 500 balance (0.02 per 1.000)

2. For 2016 - 2020 I use 0.01 for 4.000 balance (0.0025 per 1.000)

History Quality:

1. FBS 100% for both period

2. ICM 100% for 2018 - 2020

3. ICM 99% for 2016 - 2020

Note:

1. For set balance 500 I don't change SL value ie. 250 (but it's useless)

2. For set balance 4.000 I use Global SL 60%

Results:

2018 - 2020 FBS balance 500

Hi. I've managed to migrate the set files to the latest version. Hopefully, I did it correctly (I'm using the latest version 2.37).

CP EA MT5 2.29 EU M5 (0.0025 per 1k or 0.01....set
CP EA MT5 2.29 EU M5 (0.02 per 1k for 0.01 ....set

I was testing the one for 500 € and I've noticed that it looses a lot in 2017 and 2020.

Have you any idea? I do not see these jumps in your test. Can it be an error in the set files?

Interesting especially because of the low and stable profit. It looks very interesting to avoid having the account burned. I would be very grateful if you can post the set files for the latest version of the CP EA?

@acealert..thanks for the precise explanation listing out the pros & cons. :)

My broker wont charge me swap so may be very useful for me. Will give it a shot with small lot size.

anytime sai :)

@sai and @benedict

Main difference from original set file is:
1. I don't do pending order, It executed on market order

2. Then when time to Martingale, I set limit max open trades 100. This 100 equal to almost open unlimited (but on backtest, maximum executed was until CP #7 only)

3. Because I'm not limiting max open trades for martingale which dangerous obviously, I use big candle for delayed that opening time. When I'm on buy and market goes south,, CP EA would calculate pipstep and lot size based on original set. If it met criteria, it would then see another filter ie. big candle, if bearish candle size equal to 10.0 points then the order would open, but if not, it would wait that bearish candle size equal to 10.0 points

With this I hope:
1. I can enter on market quickly
2. When goes wrong, it will do martingale to chase running price but not too fast because of the big candle

Why I do this:
I see back on january or february, CP open maximum trades (CP #6) but the price still up(or down?) for a long time. Maybe this is some alternative idea who thinking to open another trade manually back at the time, but hesitate because afraid of price still won't back to desired price

I hope I can explain it clearly, ofc it's still room for improvement as it will on the market longer time (because delayed open martingale) and it's bad for broker which charge swap
