Hello,

I would like to stop DDOSing forexfactory. ;-)

The news filter tries to get new info all the time what ends up in

Image 6084

It spams the log, so maybe you could make it less often and collect the events and print them, when a certain amount is reached or once an hour.

The news filter module itself works as expected. This is a minor thing.

How would you rate the customer service you received?

Added a dynamic pause after each error. Now it will not spam you with all these messages.

Will be available with the next update.

As I said in the first post, the news filter module itself works as expected.. Its just the log spam.

A switch to turn off news related log entries is a good solution.

Having a spammed log is much better than not being able to find the reasons for errors.
I'll filter out some of these messages.

No, they shouldn't block you.
EA works on many different servers and news update successfully. Let's try to investigate your case.

As for the lowering down the frequency -- think about news-sensitive strategy that misses the update because this pause. It's much worse that every second logs.

Maybe we need to add another parameter to adjust this.

Exactly. I think the problem is, that it waits 1 minute only after a successful download. If the download did not work its trying and trying... every tick. Infinite loop. And they just block the webrequest from my ip until new news are released. If there are new news they allow some (3?) requests and block again.

I think if you lower the frequency of requests it will be all good. My solution would be to check every five minutes.

So, it is not a bug. It tries to get an updated page every second and waits for 1 minute after each successful download.

I can hide these messages, but then you won't know why the news filter isn't working.

If you see these messages all the time, PM me with details please.
