Backtest on MT5

I have been using EA CP for a couple of months with interesting results. In the meantime I have done many studies to improve, optimize and make the operation "safer", but I have often found that my final results were not the same that Andrey, Sam and others have reproduced. MT5 is still a very new environment for me, I have been using MT4 for at least 15 years, but for backtesting I saw that you have to use MT5. How should it be set up? How to download the data? Which broker platform is best to use? Please share videos, link, images, explanations. Thanks

Dante, here is the short review - https://www.metatrader5.com/en/automated-trading/strategy-tester

Before using tester, connect terminal to the real account you will use for trading.

There are credentials for my live accounts (IC and Darwinex) that you can use for your tests - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ww1M97H54IBwtCKZDhxtqsTsrtEMKofXHMEWMGCyZNs/edit#heading=h.wdp8c3ml8ar

Try this

Click on strategy tester, pick the genetic optimisation

Pick the expert, currency pair and time period. For the delays, I would suggest zero. Better to use ideal conditions now and you can stress test with random delay after. Use every tick, using real ticks. Pick the leverage that is the same as your broker. Pick a deposit (I use 1k, a simple number)

Just hit start, the tester will download the right pairs automatically for you so no need to click on symbols and download manually.

I access the SYMBOLS and choose the pair, the period, the ticks and load the data. Need anything else?
